Considering the article you finished reading and annotating respond to the following questions:
1) Describe your thoughts on the rise of socialism & fascism in Italy at the turn of the 20th century. What do you think about it? What was most interesting or troubling about this historical era?
2) Do you think this type of political and social turmoil was inevitable in societies then and inevitable in societies today? Explain
I believe that this wasn't inevitable back then because , back then people did not have open minds. You were either born into wealth or born into poverty.
ReplyDeleteI believe that this type of political and social turmoil was inevitable because all it takes for a community to get along is cooperation although i understand why it might have been thought to be inevitable because people during that time werent as open minded. If you were born into the upper class then you stay with that group and if you were born a peasant then thats how you would stay the rest of your life.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it was inevitable because they could've gotten together. You were born wealthy or poor.
ReplyDeleteThe rise of socialism in Italy was not very successful due to the fascist movement took them out with violence and fear but due to their victory over the socialist, the fascist were bullies in their own country with thuggish manner. The most interesting is the peasant workers in Italy were stuck with such a dilemma that they were forced to support the fascist movement or be intimidated and threatened by the fascist. It's a very disappointing thought of how humans treat other humans.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of political and social turmoil was definitely inevitable in societies back then due to having limited freedom and power, the submission of one class is necessary for the other classes, people will follow what they hear and see, these kind of social turmoil involves in human manipulation. Even to this day after two world wars and countless others, people will rely on these small petty thoughts because of the knowledge they receive, filtering their mind, in an another way to say, brainwash.
